Renewing Your Teaching Certificate
You may only renew your certificate when you have earned/completed the renewal requirements (see below).
Renewal requirements must be completed during the 5-year validity period of the Professional Certificate and prior to the expiration of the Professional Certificate.
STEP 1: Complete and document professional learning on your Frontline account
STEP 2: Download, complete, and submit the DLI Renewal Checklist
STEP 3: Watch the renewal application video or read the written instructions
STEP 4: Apply and pay for renewal. One $75.00 fee will renew everything on your certificate
STEP 5: Provide your principal or administrator with a copy of the renewed certificate

Submit to DLIcertification@doralleadership.org with proof of FLDOE application payment. Please ensure that you include your FLDOE license number.
- Ensure your Frontline Account reflects completion of all requirements (see below for renewal requirements)
- If using Beacon Educator credits, please generate an "Add-In" form via your Frontline account accessed via Colēgia
- If using Doral College or other college credits, please make sure to request that Official Transcripts be submitted to the FLDOE directly by the college or university Doral College Transcripts Request

Things to remember:
- DLI-serviced teachers should affiliate with District 100
- Use or update your email to a personal email that you check frequently
- Remember to request official transcripts for any college courses being used for renewals
Renewal Requirements
Earn six (6) semester hours of college credit which must include at least one (1) semester hour of college credit in teaching students with disabilities (SWD) or 120 Master Plan Points to include at least 20 Master Plan Points in Teaching Students with Disabilities (SWD) must be earned during each renewal period. All renewals must have the SWD Credits; however, some certificates with literacy and/or leadership subjects may require additional specific renewal points/credits (see below to determine if you need these specific credits

State Renewal Methods
Master Plan Points
120 Master Plan Points to include at least 20 Master Plan Points in Teaching Students with Disabilities (SWD) must be earned during each renewal period.
College Credits
Six (6) semester hours of college credit, including one (1) semester hour in teaching SWD, must be earned during each renewal period. One (1) semester hour of college credit is equivalent to twenty (20) in-service points.
College-level credits used for certificate renewal must be completed at an accredited college or university or a non-accredited college or university that the Florida Department of Education has approved.
Official transcripts must be submitted directly from the College to the FLDOE.
Subject Area Exams
A passing score on the Florida subject area test specific to the coverage to be renewed is equivalent to three (3) semester hours of college credit for renewal purposes. The subject must already be added to the certificate.
National Board Certification
A valid certificate issued by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards will renew the Florida certificate only in the subject(s) shown on the national certificate and complete the SWD/ESE twenty (20) in-service points.
College Teaching
Teaching a college-level course at an acceptable institution may be accepted the same as credit earned for that course.
